He Has Already Seen You
You do not need to place yourself in a better light before God. Jesus already knows what no one else sees, and in this moment he invites you closer as you are.

Today’s Devotional
Nathanael begins with doubt. Can anything good come from Nazareth? Philip does not start a long argument; he simply says, “Come and see.” The road of faith often begins this way. Not every question is resolved beforehand. You take one step toward Jesus.
In the encounter, Nathanael discovers that Jesus had already seen him under the fig tree. He knows the half-spoken thought, the doubt, perhaps even the prayer no one else knows about. Yet he does not keep his distance. His gaze is not a spotlight searching for flaws, but morning light: it reveals and makes room for life.
Jesus calls Nathanael a man in whom there is no deceit. This does not mean perfection. It suggests an uncovered face that does not pretend to be someone else. Before Christ you can set down your carefully edited version. You may follow him with your questions still beside you.
Let the part of you beneath the fig tree come into view today: what you would hide, or what you cannot yet phrase well. Tell it simply to Jesus. Then listen to his promise: you will see greater things. Not because you have become perfect, but because you are going forward with him.
Jesus knows you before you speak; therefore you do not need to perform before him.
Write one sentence about what you most want to hide or polish today. Read it aloud before Jesus, then remain quiet for two minutes with this prayer: “You saw me, and still you call me.”

Heavenly FatherHeavenly Father, we praise you because the names of your people are written into the foundations of your city, and your faithfulness forgets none of your children.
We bless you because you see the hidden place and know the heart’s truthful movement. There is no contempt in your gaze; your love opens room for coming home.
Lord Jesus ChristLord Jesus Christ, we magnify you because you are the Son of God and King of Israel. Before we turn toward you, you already know us and address us with mercy.
We adore you because heaven is opened in you, and you have become the way between God and humanity. On the cross you bent down to us; in your resurrection you keep the Father’s house open.
Holy SpiritHoly Spirit, we praise you because you loosen the mask from us. You give courage for an honest word and teach us to remain beneath the gaze of Christ.
We bless you because you can make even doubt into a path toward encounter. You remind us of the words of Jesus and shape our lives into gentle, authentic witness.
Holy Trinity, one God, glory be to you, who know, call, and lead us into new life. We do not need to hide before you; your truth and mercy hold us together. Amen.

As I Am
Father, I place before you everything I hide and what I do not yet understand within myself. Let your loving gaze rest upon me.
Jesus, I give you my doubts and prejudices. Thank you for not turning away, but inviting me into encounter.
I set down my roles, my need to make a good impression, my success, and my failure. I do not want to appear as someone else before you.
Holy Spirit, give me a clear heart and truthful speech. Lead me also to the person whom I may simply invite today: “Come and see.”
Holy Trinity, one God, I entrust my loved ones and the unknown part of this day to you. You know us. Keep us near. Amen.
Carry this with you
Jesus has already seen me, and still he calls me closer.
