Love Bends Low
Set down for a moment what you want to prove in the eyes of others. Near Christ, the greatness of your place matters less than the love with which you can sit beside someone.

Today’s Devotional
Jesus speaks of people who pass on fine words but will not touch the burdens entrusted to others. Perhaps you know this weariness: someone tells you what you should do, then leaves you alone with the weight. Christ is not that kind of Teacher. He places himself beneath the burden.
The cross shows us the shape of his authority. He does not direct from above; he bends low, washes feet, and takes the wood upon his shoulders. When he calls you to serve, he is not giving you another role in which you must prove yourself. He draws you into his own life, into the love that notices another person and comes near.
In Ezekiel’s vision, the glory of God fills the temple. Its radiance does not come from human titles or places of honor. God’s presence gives weight to what happens quietly: a sentence patiently heard, a dish washed, the grace of not hurrying another person.
Do not look for a spectacular opportunity today. Notice whose shoulders are heavy near you. Your service may be a question, a phone call, or ten undistracted minutes. A small movement. Yet when it is born from Christ, it makes room for the glory of God.
Serving with Christ is not a role; it is love standing beside another person’s burden.
Choose one person today who is carrying a lot. Do not begin with advice. Ask, “What could I make easier for you today?” Then take on one small, concrete thing from their answer.

All Glory Belongs to You
Heavenly FatherHeavenly Father, we praise you because you alone are the source and final home of every life. Your presence fills even what human eyes consider insignificant.
We bless you for your provident goodness. You do not place unbearable loads upon us; you sustain us and give us people through whom your caring hand comes near.
Lord Jesus ChristLord Jesus Christ, we magnify you because you are our one Teacher. Your word and your life are one; what you teach about service you sealed by washing feet, carrying the cross, and giving your life.
We adore you as our risen Lord. You did not seek the place of honor but stood among the least, and from there opened the way to the Father for us all.
Holy SpiritHoly Spirit, we praise you because you form the humility of Christ within us. You uncover hidden selfishness without shaming us; you set us free to love.
We bless you because you give attention to the hurried heart, words to the hesitant comforter, and endurance to those who serve unseen. Through you, even a small act can carry the presence of God.
Holy Trinity, one God, all glory belongs to you. You are the light of your dwelling, the source of humble service, and the strength of our love. Teach us to remain in you, so that our lives may speak quietly of you. Amen.

I Release the Place of Honor
Father, I place before you my desire to be noticed and praised. I no longer want to assemble my worth from the eyes of others.
Jesus, I give you my titles, roles, successes, and failures. Be my Teacher; teach me to come near to the person you have entrusted to me.
I also bring you the times when my words placed burdens on others but I did not help carry them. Give me courage to make amends.
Holy Spirit, quiet my desire to perform. Open my eyes to hidden need and give me simple, willing hands.
Holy Trinity, one God, let your gaze rest upon me. Let it be enough that you know, love, and guide me. Amen.
Carry this with you
The love of Christ bends low; today I will come near.
